Math Kangaroo USA is a national nonprofit organization with a mission of helping students love math. For 26 years, Math Kangaroo has organized an annual international mathematical competition for thousands of students in grades K-12. Math Kangaroo’s focus is on improving students’ math scores and teaching them new strategies for solving word and logic problems, helping them with critical thinking and gaining confidence in the classroom.

To all students:

Please read the directions below carefully. These instructions are specifically for students already enrolled for the March 21st test date.

Test Day

Arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time.

Hicksville, NY:

Arrival Time: 5:45 p.m. EST

Test Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. EST

Deer Park, NY:

Arrival Time: 5:45 p.m. EST

Test Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. EST

Mineola, NY:

Arrival Time: 3:45 p.m. EST

Test Time: 4:00 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. EST

Riverhead, NY:

Arrival Time: 4:45 p.m. EST

Test Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. EST

Test Rules & Policies

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before start time.
  • Before or after the test you will also receive a T-shirt, pencil, and a souvenir.
  • Calculators or smartphones are NOT allowed during the test.
  • Scratch paper and a pencil will be provided to you by a proctor.
  • After the test you must turn in the answer sheet and test booklet to the proctor.
  • The test booklet can be picked up by appointment on or after April 1.
  • There is no make-up test for in-person or online students.
  • If for any reason you are absent on the test day, you are still eligible to receive the T-shirt, gift, pencil, and test booklet.
  • Math Kangaroo will post the answer key to the test one month and one day after the official competition date. Math Kangaroo will announce winners and the results on May 1.
